Job Description\n

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for an outpatient clinic role in California, requiring a CA RN license, ambulatory or ophthalmology experience, and strong IV skills.

\n \n Responsibilities\n

• Position is based in an outpatient clinic
• Day shifts are primarily 9am-6pm, with two 8am-5pm shifts per month for staff meetings
• Care is provided for pediatric, adult, and geriatric populations
• Involves minor in-office procedures, phone triage for acute symptoms, and electronic medication refills
• Floats may be required to other local departments, units, or facilities within a 75-mile radius
• Travel pairs accepted, but not assigned to the same unit
• Assist during urgent and emergent patient events as needed
• Team-based environment with multidisciplinary collaboration
• Modules must be completed prior to start and annually, with up to 8 hours included in orientation
• Holiday and staff meeting coverage required as scheduled
• All requested time off (RTO) must be submitted with the application and approved by management at time of offer
• First day modules are completed online and transcripts are recorded
• Experience in a teaching hospital is preferred
• Scrub or dress code details not specified; inquire during onboarding

• Active CA RN license required
• AHA BLS certification required
• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) required
• Minimum 3 years of clinical nursing experience, with at least 2 years in ambulatory specialty or outpatient ophthalmology setting
• Prior travel nursing experience within the past 12 months required
• Competence in starting IVs and assisting with minor urgent/emergent events required
• Comfortable with all age groups from pediatrics to geriatrics
• Must be up to date with COVID vaccination and booster
• Experience in electronic medication refills, prior authorizations, and phone triage required
