Overview

Our client, a leading financial services firm, is seeking a Senior Desktop Engineer to design, implement, and maintain enterprise end-user computing solutions. The ideal candidate will have strong technical expertise in Windows desktop and endpoint management, automation, security compliance, and enterprise software deployment in a regulated financial environment.

Responsibilities

• Design, deploy, and maintain enterprise desktop environments across global offices.
• Manage and optimize endpoint management platforms such as Microsoft Intune, SCCM, or Workspace ONE.
• Develop and maintain automated desktop build, patching, and software deployment processes.
• Provide Level 3 escalation support for complex desktop, application, and endpoint issues.
• Collaborate with infrastructure, security, and networking teams to ensure endpoint compliance and system integrity.
• Evaluate and implement new end-user technologies and tools to improve performance, security, and user experience.
• Maintain Group Policy Objects (GPOs), Windows images, and configuration baselines.
• Support virtual desktop environments (Citrix, Azure Virtual Desktop, or VMware Horizon).
• Ensure systems meet regulatory, cybersecurity, and internal audit requirements specific to financial services.
• Create and maintain technical documentation, procedures, and runbooks.

Required Skills & Experience

• 7+ years of experience in desktop engineering or endpoint management roles within an enterprise environment.
• Advanced expertise in Windows 10/11 , Active Directory , Group Policy , SCCM/MECM , Intune , and PowerShell scripting .
• Experience with Citrix , VDI , or Azure Virtual Desktop technologies.
• Strong knowledge of endpoint security , patch management , and vulnerability remediation .
• Proven ability to troubleshoot complex desktop and application issues.
• Experience working in a financial services or similarly regulated industry preferred.
• Excellent documentation, communication, and cross-team collaboration skills.

Preferred

• Experience with ServiceNow or similar ITSM platforms.
• Familiarity with Zero Trust and MFA integrations.
• Certifications such as Microsoft Certified: Modern Desktop Administrator Associate or MCSE are a plus.
