Annual Salary: $44,000 - $45,000

Duties and Responsibilities

• The Recreation, Fitness & Health Supervisor is responsible for the operation and direction of the recreation/non-vocational program and assigned staff.
• The Recreation, Fitness & Health Supervisor supervises all recreation programs staff, ensuring that students receive instruction in safety aspects of all activities, i.e., water safety, athletic field safety, etc. Conducts in-service staff training sessions as needed.
• Formulates and recommends new or revised recreation/non-vocational and leisure-learning activities to the Social Development Director.
• Maintains ongoing community contacts with directors of recreational facilities to create a favorable impression, develop rapport and increase recreational and social opportunities for students.

Qualifications

• Associates degree preferred
• Three (3) years of experience in supervising recreation/non- vocational programs, including athletics, sports, arts and crafts, music, and drama preferred.
• Prefer experience working with disadvantaged youth. Knowledge of a variety of recreation/non-vocational activities.
• Valid driver's license in the state of employment with an acceptable driving record preferred.
• Prefer a CDL with passenger transport endorsement.
• Required to pass a drug screen in compliance with our Substance Abuse and Drug-Free Workplace policy.
• Employment is contingent upon successful completion of a nationwide criminal background check.
