Location: Northbrook, IL

Schedule: Full-Time, Onsite

Compensation: $80,000 – $100,000 per year

Job Summary

Acme Alliance is seeking an experienced Process Engineer to develop, optimize, and maintain CNC machining and manufacturing processes. This individual will play a key role in improving tooling, machining methods, workflow efficiency, and overall production performance. The ideal candidate comes from a CNC, machining, mills/lathes, machine shop, or metal removal environment and is skilled in driving process improvements that enhance quality, reduce costs, and support new product introductions.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and optimize CNC machining processes to improve quality, repeatability, and throughput.
• Design, evaluate, and implement tooling, fixtures, setup instructions, and process documentation.
• Diagnose machining and production issues; lead corrective and preventive action efforts.
• Partner with engineering, design, production, and quality teams to ensure manufacturability and alignment with specifications.
• Support new product introduction activities including process development, validation, and workflow setup.
• Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives using Lean, Six Sigma, and root-cause analysis.
• Analyze process performance and identify opportunities to reduce scrap, improve cycle times, and optimize cost.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Manufacturing, Industrial Engineering, or related field.
• Experience working with CNC machining, mills/lathes, or machine shop environments.
• Proficiency with CAD/CAM software and machining process optimization.
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving abilities.
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate cross-functionally.
