This position will provide personal financial services at assigned military installations. Responsibilities Provide the full breadth of personal financial counseling services to military service members and their families at military installations. Conduct education and counseling sessions such as one‑on‑one counseling, consultation with a commander or other provider or staff, briefings and presentations, and referral resources to participants outside the counseling session. Work closely with the installation and military branch Points of Contact (POC) to assure that the program stays within scope and meets the needs of the installation. Assist service members in establishing a spending plan for extended absences. Develop and distribute informational financial materials to service members and families. Coordinate, publicize, and provide a wide variety of Personal Financial Management classes/workshops (e.g., topics across the military lifecycle, including arrival at first duty station, pre‑ and post‑deployment, personal and career events outlined in DoDI 1322.34). Respond to requests for age‑appropriate classes or seminars. Utilize virtual counseling or other electronic modes of communication (web‑based, secure online chat, or video‑based communications and secure video teleconference sponsored by the customer) as authorized by the OSD FINRED Program office. Manage duty‑to‑warn situations according to Department of Defense (DoD) protocol. Communicate with leadership and participate in regular individual and group supervision, sharing information regarding trends and issues on the installations to which the counselor is assigned. Participate in regular in‑services, training, quality improvement committees or other contract activities as appropriate. Perform all other duties as assigned.
