Surveyor – Land Surveying (Full-Time | Portsmouth, NH)
We’re partnering with a well-established civil engineering and land development firm in the Portsmouth, NH area that is looking to add a Surveyor to their growing team. This role offers long-term stability, a healthy mix of field and office work, and the opportunity to contribute to impactful regional projects.
Job Function
The Surveyor supports land development, infrastructure, and site-planning projects by collecting precise field data and producing accurate survey documents. Responsibilities include boundary, topographic, ALTA/NSPS, easement, subdivision, and construction layout surveys. You’ll work with modern survey equipment (robotic total stations, GNSS/GPS, data collectors), process field data for plan production, prepare reports and plats, and collaborate closely with engineers and project managers.
What You’ll Do
• Conduct boundary, topographic, ALTA/NSPS, subdivision, and construction layout surveys
• Operate GNSS/GPS units, robotic total stations, and data-collector technology
• Process field data and produce plats, as-builts, and survey deliverables
• Coordinate with engineers, PMs, and design teams to support project needs
• Ensure compliance with state and professional surveying standards
• Assist with workflow improvements and support junior crew members as needed
What We’re Looking For
• Licensed Land Surveyor (LLS) in NH, or working toward licensure
• Strong experience with modern survey instruments and field workflows
• Solid understanding of boundary law, measurement techniques, and deed research
• Comfortable working both independently and as part of a survey crew
• Reliable, organized, and detail-oriented
Preferred Skills
• Experience with AutoCAD Civil 3D or GIS
• Familiarity with ALTA/NSPS standards
• Construction layout experience
• Exposure to NH or MA land development projects
