Academic Advisor 3 - Information Science Technology University of Houston Department : Information Science Technology Salary : Commensurate with Experience/Education Description Direct and coordinate academic advising activities for a college or major office. Interpret and communicate academic policies and procedures to faculty, students, and staff. Coordinate and supervise the mailing of all letters of recommendation to professional schools and maintain statistics on the number of students entering professional school. Conduct career counseling workshops and provide advice on field of study. Participate in class schedule development and registration tasks, including problem enrollments, drop/adds, and so forth. Supervise the compilation and analysis of data and the preparation of related management reports. Act as liaison with university administration and faculty on academic matters. Perform other job-related duties as required. This student‑facing role involves frequent interaction with students, faculty, and campus visitors. The Academic Advisor provides timely academic guidance, answers questions, and connects students to resources, while coordinating advising appointments and walk‑ins to ensure effective service in a typical office setting. Education : Will be considered in lieu of experience. Requires at least one year of related experience or a Master’s degree in a relevant field.
